NB! Hair growth never stops on the human body. However, laser epilation is the longest-lasting hair removal method. The laser removes the hair follicles in the growth phase, which are responsible for hair growth. In this way, the hair is removed quickly and effectively, and the hair does not grow back for a long time. For most clients, the procedure is comfortable or with very little discomfort.
The laser affects only the hairs in the growth phase, at one point there are about 20% hairs in the growth phase in the area, therefore, to get a good result, it is recommended to undergo 6-12 sessions, which must be repeated at intervals of 4 weeks and at the end of the course with a longer interval. The laser beam removes 80% to 90% of the hair follicle, the remaining hairs become thinner, lighter, pigmented after the procedure and therefore the laser can no longer affect them. Most of the hairs removed by laser are removed irreversibly, and the course of laser epilation is considered completed when 80-90% of the hairs in the treated area have been removed. The remaining softer and pigmented hairs may acquire pigment after a few years. Over time, new follicles may form and maintenance procedures are therefore carried out. Maintenance procedures are performed as needed. To maintain the result, we recommend doing 1-2 maintenance procedures a year or every 6 months, after completing the course. Even without maintenance procedures, hair growth will never be as large as it was before laser epilation.
The new hairs that may appear are mostly single, fine and light. Hormonal balance in the body has a significant impact on hair growth, so new hair can appear after hormonal changes, such as during pregnancy, breastfeeding or menopause/andropause. The laser epilation procedure is performed with Biotech Italian Supreme One Diode Laser, which is EU certified and meets the requirements of the Estonian Health Board.
Laser epilation is recommended to be done 6-12 times. 6 times is the minimum because it is based on the growth of the hair cycle, because at one moment in one area not all hairs are in the growth phase and the laser, regardless of power, only removes those hairs that are currently in the growth phase. At one point in time, ~20% of these hairs in one area are in the growing phase. Consequently, to get all the hairs at least once in the growth phase, the recommended minimum is 6x. According to your skin tone and hair, we choose the correct operating parameters of the device.
Each person is unique, so there is no one-size-fits-all answer. Usually, to achieve complete hair removal, it is necessary to go through a course consisting of 6-12 sessions, which are recommended to be done about once a month. The growth phase of the hair usually lasts 4-6 weeks, depending on the specific area. The laser beam affects hairs that are in the active growth phase, and at one time about 20% of the hairs in the area are in this phase. Hormonal areas of the body, such as the upper lip and labia, take longer to achive results.
The effectiveness of laser epilation depends on the color and strength of the hair. The darker and stronger the hair and the lighter the skin, the better the results are usually. It is important to note that laser hair removal does not remove hair that is gray or lighter than the skin.

Laser epilation is a method of removing unwanted hair using laser pulses without damaging the surrounding tissues. Thanks to the lens in the device, the light rays are concentrated into a beam of light. When the hair follicles absorb the light beam, they undergo the process of photothermolysis. This process weakens the follicles, preventing them from producing new hair. Over the course of several sessions, the hair in the treated area becomes finer and lighter, and in many cases it stops completely regenerating. The Diode laser we use, with a wavelength of 808 nm, is known as the “golden standard of hair removal” because it is suitable for almost all skin types and hair types.
Laser affects only hairs that are in the active growth phase. After extraction, there is no more melanin with which the machine can remove the hair, and in addition, the time of the procedure increases, as the hair has to grow back in order to be removed. The direction of hair growth can also change, which in turn can cause ingrown hairs and inflammatory processes on the skin. During the course of laser epilation, we ask that hair be removed only by shaving.
The exact length and interval of the course will be set in an individual consultation with a specialist. The interval between procedures is 4-8 weeks, depending on the treated area and several procedures are currently being performed. At the end of the course, the intervals of the procedure become longer, since there is little or no hair. By doing more frequent sessions, it is not possible to achieve the desired result sooner, because the laser radiation affects only the hairs that are in the active growth phase. With each procedure, the amount of unwanted hair should decrease. After achieving the desired result, it is recommended to repeat the procedure every six months or a year in order to maintain the achieved result.
